Lead Class

This advanced class will focus on safety and best practice techniques of lead climbing. The class will cover all information and techniques required to pass an inSPIRE Rock lead test, but completing the class cannot guarantee your ability to pass.

PREREQUISITES:

• Top rope belay certified at inSPIRE Rock
• 14 years or older
• Be able to red-point 5.10- on top rope
• If you are not fully confident in your ability to top rope belay with an Assisted Braking Belay Device, you are not ready to take this course.

GEAR NEEDED:

• Climbing shoes
• Harness
• Assisted Braking Belay Device (BD Pilot, Petzl Gri Gri, etc.)
• Chalk bag recommended
• Shoes and Belay device can be rented from inSPIRE Rock at an additional cost. Rental harnesses cannot be used for lead climbing/belaying.

AGE: 14 years old and up

LENGTH: 3 hours

CLASS SIZE: Minimum is 2; maximum is 4. If you are the only one signed up for the class, the class may get rescheduled.
